Etiquette
Email is an effective tool for communicating. In order for you to communicate effectively many of the same rules should apply to your email as any written communication.
If you receive a questionable or disturbing email let someone know.
BE POLITE
Remember that the person reading the email can not see your facial expressions or hear your tone of voice. Even emoticons sometimes do not convey a message as effectively as carefully chosen words.
THINK BEFORE YOU SEND
Remember, your message still represents you to the people who will be reading your email, and it may be sent onto others. Never send a message that you would not want to be public.
THINK TWICE BEFORE SENDING A REPLY
Be sure to read before you send your message. It only takes one keystroke to send your reply, and make sure it is going to the right person. Once sent it can't be brought back.
THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU FORWARD
One hit on the reply button and you have forwarded a message. Email is personal mail, just as you may not want your thoughts sent and read by the world, neither will someone else. Once a message is forwarded you have no control where it will end up.
DO NOT SEND ABUSIVE OR HARASSING MESSAGES
DO NOT SEND CHAIN LETTERS
AVOID USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR
BE CONCISE
Student use of email at Mt. Healthy High School is limited to specific class use. Teachers will have information for logging in and use.
